The Eclipse Aviation Corporation was a New Mexico-based manufacturer of the Eclipse 500 very light jet. The company was vital to the aviation industry and helped usher in a new category of small jets. In 2009, the company was sold to Eclipse Aerospace with plans to provide upgrades to the current Eclipse aircraft fleet and restart production.
