ATR regional turboprops connect more than 100 countries through the route networks that other aircraft simply cannot serve profitably. The ATR 42 and ATR 72, in passenger and freighter configurations, run high-cycle daily schedules out of regional airports where ramp turnaround time and equipment reliability determine on-time performance. Tronair manufactures ATR aircraft ground support equipment tailored to the platform's dimensional profile, jack-point geometry, and short-haul operational tempo. Regional airlines, cargo operators flying the ATR 72-600F, ground handling companies serving secondary airports, and airport authorities operating their own GSE fleets all source ATR GSE parts and accessories from Tronair to keep these turboprops moving.

Regional turboprops do operational work that other aircraft simply cannot match on route economics, and ATR has built the dominant platform family in that segment. The Toulouse-based joint venture of Airbus and Leonardo has produced regional turboprops since 1981, with the ATR 42 and ATR 72 today forming the largest regional turboprop fleet in service worldwide at more than 1,800 aircraft across nearly every continent. The most recent ATR 72-600F freighter variant has expanded the platform's role in express cargo networks, with operators such as FedEx Express operating large-scale fleets on overnight feeder routes.
That kind of operational profile, with frequent cycles, short ground times, constant ramp activity, and tight turnaround windows, places real demand on supporting equipment. Tronair manufactures ATR aircraft servicing equipment to hold up under those conditions, backed by ISO 9001:2015-certified production and a global service network supporting operators wherever the route map extends.
Tronair's ATR product range is organized around the disciplines most active in regional turboprop operations. The categories below cover what operators can source.
Tronair manufactures towbars and attachment heads sized for the ATR 42 and ATR 72 nose gear assemblies, with welded steel construction, shear protection, durable powder-coat finishes, and ball lok-T pin locking mechanisms. Multi-head towbar systems allow ground handlers to service both ATR variants from a single towbar inventory, which matters at regional stations supporting mixed-fleet operations.
Eagle Tugs, part of the Tronair family, builds pushback tractors and aircraft tugs suited to the weight class of the ATR 42 and ATR 72. The Eagle ETT-X Series and TTR Series cover the towing capacity range needed for regional turboprop ramp operations, with four-wheel-drive options for cold-weather and adverse-condition work.
Wheel and brake changes, scheduled landing gear inspections, and structural maintenance on the ATR 42 and ATR 72 all require jacks specified to the airframe's weight and jack-point geometry. Tronair tripod jacks and axle jacks come configured to ATR specifications, with hand-pump or air-pump hydraulic operation and integrated pressure relief safeties.
Tronair GPUs supply regulated 28 VDC and 115 VAC 400 Hz power for ATR avionics work, cockpit checks, and engine start support. Clean, stable ground power matters at regional stations where engine-running APU time is operationally costly and ground-based power is the preferred turnaround approach.
ATR maintenance programs include regular hydraulic system testing across landing gear, brakes, flight controls, and accumulator systems. Tronair HPUs supply the flow rates and pressure outputs needed for these checks without engine operation, supporting both line maintenance and base-level inspection work.
Tronair fluid service carts and oxygen and nitrogen servicing carts cover the full range of ATR fluid management work, from hydraulic and oil servicing through crew oxygen replenishment and landing gear strut charging. Baffled reservoirs, vacuum degassing, integrated filtration, and regulated pressure manifolds maintain fluid and gas integrity throughout each service.
Regional carriers expanding their ATR fleets, cargo operators bringing 72-600F aircraft into express networks, ground handling companies serving regional airports, and airport authorities operating their own GSE inventories can all source ATR equipment from a single supplier. Tronair sales engineers will scope your operational environment, including any cold-weather, high-altitude, remote-station, or coastal exposure considerations, and recommend configurations accordingly.

The 72-600F shares its airframe with the passenger ATR 72-600 but is configured for main-deck cargo, with a large forward cargo door and reinforced cabin floor. Tronair GSE specifications remain largely consistent across the two variants for towing, jacking, and electrical power, with cargo-specific options, such as positioning aids and freight-handling support equipment, available where operators need them.
Absolutely. Many third-party ground handlers serve ATR, Dash 8, Saab 340, and Embraer turboprop operators from a shared equipment pool. Tronair multi-head towbars and broadly compatible jack and servicing equipment make that kind of inventory consolidation practical.
Tronair customer service is available Monday through Friday for troubleshooting, parts identification, maintenance guidance, and warranty coordination. Authorized service centers across multiple continents perform scheduled maintenance, overhauls, and field repairs on Tronair, Columbus Jack, Malabar, and Eagle Tugs equipment.
